Snakes of Ontario are:
Freddie Towe - lead vocals, guitar and songwriting
Celina Carroll -baritone ukulele and vocals
Conny Nowe - drums, mandolin, vocals
Rachel Melas - bass, accordion, glockenspiel, melodica

Freddie Towe is an artist and singer songwriter who recently has banded together with old friends and kick-ass musicians to form the Snakes of Ontario. Freddie’s art work shifts from abstracts to portraiture from mixed media to sculpture and they have exhibited their visual art in Canada for over 20 years. Freddie lives on the York River in Birds Creek, near Maynooth, Ontario. 

Celina Carroll has performed and toured extensively over the last 35 years with diverse musical projects including Mother Tongue, The Nancy Sinatras, The Matriphiles and a traditional Bahamian Junkanoo ensemble. Current projects include electronic duo ina unt ina, experimental band Mintz and The Untitled Carolyn Taylor Project which recently launched a double vinyl album.  Celina is writing and recording a solo project under the name CDMC and has recently reunited with long time musical  collaborator Chip Yarwood to perform live as seewhysound. 

Conny Nowe and Rachel Melas began their musical voyage as a rock 'n roll rhythm section in the now infamous Vancouver punk scene of the early 80's.  Moving East to Toronto they played with legendary world music band Mother Tongue, Reggae/Rock band Random Order and backed up Dub Poet Lillian Allen. In the millennium they turned their musical attention to Jazz  and Folk. They currently perform together in Cajun and Zydeco band Swamperella,  Klezmer band The Horables, Swing band The Sonny Balcones and are very happy to be returning to their punk rock roots with Snakes of Ontario!
